Most Mauritanian people get there culture from the Sunni Islamic religion. Mauritania has both religious and secular festivals. these secular festivals consist of Labor Day, New Years Day,Independence day and Africa day.There are also Religious festivals like Korite, Tabaski, Leilat-al-Meiraj and the Islamic New Year.


The ethnic group of Moors has one of the great founders Mauritania Music. They have been the major contributors to the Mauritania Music. In the old days, the Moorish musicians were called by the lords to perform. The Moorish musicians also went from village to village and played their music for anyone willing to pay.
